Portfolio of Works

Abstracts bring me joy!   There's such freedom in not knowing what's going to happen when I begin.  It's such a therapeutic process for me to express myself using colors and design.

The power of a sunset never ceases to overwhelm me.  The way the sky melts into the ocean is breathtaking. Sunsets are God's  artwork.

My botanical artwork is based on an old French Court Style.  I begin the process by studying a live plant.  Working out the darks, lights, and details in pencil.  When happy with the pencil drawing, I then match the colors of the plant while referencing the pencil drawing to create a watercolor painting.

The idea for this sunflower series came to me while sitting on the beach one day. I was people watching and started imagining the people as sunflowers doing their activities. It made the whole beach experience so much more fun!
